Autumn is in it’s final glow in ‘Downton’. Fortunately we haven’t had much rain recently so the leaves are still crisp underfoot. I love the gentle harmony of the local buildings with nature. It creates a subtle beauty that doesn’t shout out at you but rather soothes your soul as you explore the little lanes, paths and alleyways. Well, if you look at the buildings in this photograph they consist of all natural materials – wood, stone and glass – as if part of nature itself. There is an old-worldly feel too, like time has stood still for a century. Which is no doubt one of the many reasons why it is such a popular choice of location for filming Downton Abbey.

  1. That’s a beautiful capture 🙂

  2. There is something about a lovely little tree arch on a quiet little path that just enchants the senses. Thank you for sharing.
